Tags & Color Coding

Tags let you categorize and visually identify tools beyond the built-in fields.

Adding Tags

On the tool edit page, tap the + Tag button to open the tag picker. You can:

• Select existing tags — tap to toggle a tag on or off
• Create a new tag — choose a name and color
• Add brand tags — one-tap creation of brand-colored tags (Milwaukee red, DeWalt yellow, Makita teal, etc.)

Brand Tags

ToolDB includes preset brand tags with official brand colors for 49+ brands including:

Milwaukee, DeWalt, Makita, Bosch, Festool, Knipex, Klein Tools, Wera, Stabila, Wiha, Snap-on, Ridgid, Ryobi, Craftsman, Hilti, and many more.

These are created on demand — tap a brand name in the tag picker and it’s added to your account with the correct color.

Viewing Tags

• List view — tags appear as colored labels with names
• Grid view — tags appear as colored dots
• Detail page — tags appear as full-color pills

Deleting Tags

Open the tag picker and tap the × next to any tag to delete it. This removes the tag from all tools.
