Adding Your First Tool

There are three ways to add a tool to your collection.

Tap the + button, then type the tool name or brand into the catalog search. ToolDB will suggest matching tools from the 51,000+ tool database. Select one and the name, brand, model number, and type will be auto-filled.

Tap Scan UPC and point your camera at the tool’s barcode or packaging. ToolDB will look up the tool and auto-fill the details.

This works great when you’re in the shop adding tools one by one.

Tap Enter manually to fill in all details yourself. Useful for older tools or anything not in the catalog. You can enter any tool type — including custom types like “Snow Blower” or “Pressure Washer” that aren’t in the preset list.

After selecting a tool, fill in the remaining fields:

Own multiples of the same tool? Open an existing tool’s detail page and tap Duplicate. This copies all fields (except serial number) into a new entry that you can customize.
